There were people wheeling around the welsh mountains sides long before the bicycle was invented, this solitary stone is a mile marker on the old London Harlech Coach Road, until a coastal road was built the only way was over the Rhinog Mountains by Diffwys. Along it there are many such old features of old roads long ago now often lost along the more developed highways of Britain. The route is an ideal off road route close by to Coed y Brenin. | Until we can get the smell of mud and dried blood from a typical ride as a digital file to experience the thrill for yourself you have to get out there. Hopefully here we can point out, for those not familiar with the area, the best places to ride. All we ask is that when riding you consider the safety and enjoyment of others at the same time. Wales is a small place and we have to share it, if we knock the place about a bit too much it won't last for others to enjoy.
With a diverse range of club riders with local knowledge there is scarcely a place we have not been. Some tracks are poor riding expiriences or there may be environmental issues it would take a visitor a whole heap of hassle to get around. Hopefully you can use this as a reource to get to the best riding out there. Check out our NEW web forum We have photos, DV movies, and panoramic views of the trails.. and what some folks do on them. Where we can avoid choking your bandwidth we'll get them out there for you |

| North Wales has a great variety of wild terrain that suits Mountain Biking. A vast network of old drovers and coaching roads provides miles of undeveloped unsurfaced roads and tracks with all gradients of slope. In addition acres of upland have been subject to commercial forestry planting that has introduced significant mileages of forest road. Developments at Coed y Brenin Forest have introduced not only graded routes of significant duration but the introduction of custom made single track specifically created for mountain bikes. | To counteract a campaign about a perceived danger from a 'lunatic' element of mtb riders (are any of us sane) we were succesful parties in a campaign to stop the National Park Authority converting the succesful voluntary agreement not to ride at peak times into outright ban on cycling Snowdons Bridleways. Please continue to support the voluntary restraint now running 1st May until September 30th between 10.00am and 5.00pm see National Park Press Release |
